At around 20 weeks of pregnancy, you will have your ultrasound to look at the anatomy of the baby.
The main things we look for during this ultrasound are confirmation of your due date, the length of the cervix to see if you’re at risk for pre-term birth, the location of the placenta, and the anatomy.
We measure your baby’s size and look at the kidneys, fingers, toes, heart, brain, liver, lungs, stomach, bladder, face, and abdomen. Your doctor will review the ultrasound findings with you and let you know if there’s anything abnormal.
And of course, you get to find out your baby’s gender… unless you choose to keep it a surprise!
